Nodal Power Trader

Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Generate speculative PnL trading CRR/FTRs, Virtuals, and other nodal congestion products in selected ISO/RTOs.
  • Develop and execute speculative trading strategies leveraging skills and experience in power systems fundamentals and statistical analysis while adhering to risk and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform in-depth market analysis and fundamentals research, efficiently communicating discoveries and interpretations with team members
  • Optimize existing portfolios and strategies as market conditions change
  • Collaborate with other traders, analysts, and developers to share insights and drive improvements to in-house tools and systems.

Qualifications:

  • Educational qualification requires minimum of Bachelor’s in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field of study. Focus on data analytics or operations research is preferred
  • Strong fundamental and analytics background in electric grid, including advanced-level skillset in using power-flow modeling softwares such as Dayzer, Panorama and Powerworld
  • 3+ years of experience being an analyst or a trader in USA financial Power markets.
  • Expertise in quantitative modelling using Python is a plus.
  • Hands on experience with Data Visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative.

Location:

Houston in preferred but Remote is option if enough experience is demonstrated
