Tasks/Responsibilities:

• Perform analysis to identify short and long-term congestion risks and opportunities in collaboration with the energy trading team.
• Use advanced electrical engineering and operations research techniques to support decision-making and trading in US electricity markets using power flow optimization techniques.
• Maintain, execute, and calibrate security constrained optimal power flow models using power system modelling software such as PowerWorld, PSSE and Dayzer. Perform in-depth congestion analysis using power-flow modelling techniques involving outage distribution factors, contingency analysis, and optimal power flow (OPF).
• Support the Power Traders managing both the short-term portfolio and long-term portfolios in independent system Operator (ISO) markets as well as Over the counter (OTC) markets.
• Research, develop and maintain pricing & risk models for Power trading desk. Analyze historical trade data to identify trading patterns using modern statistical methods and machine learning techniques.
• Develop portfolio optimization techniques & hedging software for the Power trading desk.

Qualifications:

• Requires a master’s degree in industrial technology and management or master’s in electrical engineering.
