Power Trader / FTR Trader (PJM)
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze PJM congestion dynamics, transmission constraints, outages, and market rule changes
- Develop and execute PJM FTR trading strategies across annual, long-term, and monthly auctions
- Construct and manage an FTR portfolio, including position sizing, hedging, and risk management
- Execute trades and submit bids/offers using PJM auction platforms and internal trading systems
- Actively manage risk exposure, including position limits, VaR, scenario analysis, and stress testing
- Maintain detailed P&L attribution, auction performance analysis, and portfolio reporting
- Collaborate closely with physical power, virtual trading, risk, credit, and operations teams
- Build and maintain strong relationships with counterparties and market participants
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior traders and analysts; contribute to continuous improvement of trading processes
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- 5+ years of direct PJM FTR trading experience
- Strong understanding of PJM market structure, congestion, LMP mechanics, and auction processes
- Proven ability to generate consistent, risk-adjusted P&L
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Location:
Houston in preferred but Remote is option if enough experience is demonstrated
